Coach Rich
Here is my philosophy, I am a coach because of my passion for the game of hockey. I believe in building a culture where everybody puts the team first. Nothing comes before the team. If nobody cares who gets the credit, the team can do incredible things. If you are going to have a successful team and season, you have to have the right people on the bus and make sure they are in the right seats. I want my teams to play with integrity and class, making the right choices before, during, and after each practice and game. You must play with passion, realize that there are no shortcuts, and no substitution for hard work. I believe in dreaming big, if not then why dream at all. I have had the great fortune to be a member of two National Championship teams. Once in college, playing for R.I.T (Rochester Institute of Technology) and the second as the head coach for the 18U "AA" Jr. Hurricanes.
It is now my goal to win a National Championship as a member of the UNCW Hockey team. If we can make that happen one day, that could help with my dream of one day having an NCAA Division I hockey program at UNCW.
